The chain of reforms behind one instrument
CNBV instruments are reformed by resoluciones that modify the original text and are published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación. This lookup gathers that whole chain for a single instrument: what each amending resolution did, described as the Commission publishes it, the date it appeared in the DOF, the official PDF of each one, and the annexes attached to the instrument. The Circular Única de Bancos alone carries more than 180 amendments, which is exactly the trail a compliance team has to reconstruct to establish what the rule said on a given date. The identifier the form asks for is the one returned by the CNBV regulations search, so the normal flow is to find the instrument first and then open its history.
- Amending resolutionsEvery reform to the instrument, described as the Commission publishes it.
- DOF datesThe Diario Oficial de la Federación publication date of each amendment.
- Annexes and official PDFsThe instrument's annexes and a link to the official document for each change.
Common questions
- 01Where do I get the regulation identifier?
- From the CNBV regulations search: every result carries the identifier that opens its history. It is a number, with no letters or slashes.
- 02Why does no amendment come back?
- Because that identifier does not correspond to an instrument with a published history. Not every instrument in the catalog has amending resolutions: some were published once and never reformed.
- 03Does it include the consolidated text in force?
- No. The CNBV publishes the original instrument and its amending resolutions separately, and that is what the lookup returns. To read the integrated text you have to work from the official PDFs.
- 04Is it free? Are there any limits?
- Yes, it is free and needs no account. There is only a cap on lookups per hour from the same connection, and one instrument per lookup. To monitor several rules, use the Croma API.
